Regional & National Activities
A Note From Your President and Vice President:
Hey, NASC! Jordan and I need your help. Would you please contact us with the location and date of your district convention? If you would want the State Executive Board to speak at your event, and if we are able to attend, such topics might include: successful fund raising tips, managing budget, effective delegating or possibly to encouraging delegates to attend Summer Leadership Workshop, JAM, and Nationals this summer. We know you know all about the benefits of a national or state leadership workshop, and you already try to push attendance in your districts; however this year, We hope the Nebraska delegation will be able to send a larger number of leaders to the both the National Convention and our Summer Leadership Workshops right her in our own state.
Due dates are approaching for nationals. Check the NASC website at nasc.org for more details.
With gratitude,
Jack Anderson
NASC President

In addition to the great activities here in Nebraska, NASC encourages students and advisors to participate in national and regional conferences and activities.
A delegation from Nebraska attends the national student council convention each summer, giving them the opportunity to meet and network with leaders from all over the United States. It's also a great chance to see different parts of the country, as the convention is hosted by a different school each year. Delegates from Nebraska travel together and get to know one another better, which helps make for a stronger state association.
This past year (2010) the National Student Council conference was held in Indianapolis area at Centergrove High School in Centergrove, IN.
For the pretrip with the 2010 national convention students spent two days in Chicago, including shopping, sight-seeing, and Six Flags Over Great America.
For more information about national and regional conferences, contact co-executive director Mike Musil at mmusil@lps.org or Kyrie Nehls at kenehls@mpsomaha.org.
