The responsibilities of the State President are:
•Preside at Executive Board meetings four times a year (September, February, and April; as well as the night prior to and during State Convention)
•Represent NASC at national, area, state, and district conventions, and all state activities
•Attend Summer Leadership Workshop
•Select and promote a state charity
•Plan and organize the LEARN (Learn Everything About Running NASC) retreat in January
Your state charity selection will be your running platform at State Convention. The state charity of choice must be presented for approval to the Executive Board. You must attend at least one State Executive Board meeting to present your platform prior to State Convention. Upon taking office, activities of the state president will be covered by an approved budget.
While most of the expenses of the State Officers will be paid by NASC, the State Officers will be responsible for paying a portion of their way to National Convention personally. NASC will cover the convention registration and hotel cost during the convention. Pretrip expenses will be covered by the officer.
